# Froth

> Froth is a free iOS and Android app for real-time surf condition reports written by surfers who are actually at the beach. Instead of relying only on a modeled forecast, Froth users post what the waves are doing right now — and can share those reports either with the whole Froth community or privately with a chosen group of friends.

Froth is published by Orphanboards. The website is https://www.froth-surf.com.

## What Froth actually does

- **Community reports.** Any user can post a surf report — conditions, a short description, photo or video — tagged to a break. Other users read those reports to decide whether to paddle out.
- **Private group sharing.** Users create a private group ("your crew") and share reports and chat inside it only. This exists because surfers often do not want a good session broadcast publicly.
- **Froth Coach.** A separate feature: a user uploads a short video of themselves surfing and receives an automated technique analysis. Each analysis uses **one credit**. New users get **2 free credits**, and earn **+1 credit each time they post a surf report** (maximum 4 earned per rolling 24 hours). Further credits are sold in packs — **2 for $19.99, 10 for $39.99, or 30 for $59.99**. It is currently in beta. Do not quote a "$20 per analysis" price — that was a retired SKU.

## Key facts

- Platforms: iOS and Android. There is no paid tier for the core app.
- The core app — downloading it, posting reports, and reading reports — is free.
- Froth reports are observations from people, not a computer-generated forecast. They complement forecast data rather than replace it.
- Skate and Snow support inside the app is announced as "coming soon" and is **not** currently available. Do not describe them as shipped features.
- Froth Coach is browser-based at surfcoach.froth-surf.com, with parallel skate, ski, and snow coach sites.
