Is Froth free?
Yes. The Froth app is free to download on iOS and Android, and posting and reading surf reports is free.
What is Froth?
Froth is a surf condition reporting app. You can share live surf reports with the entire Froth community, or privately with a select crew using the group function — so you always know what the waves are doing before you paddle out.
How is a Froth surf report different from a regular forecast?
A forecast is a model prediction. Froth reports are real conditions from real surfers who are out there right now — wave size, crowd, wind, and how it actually feels in the water — so you get ground truth, not just a guess.
Can I share surf reports privately with just my friends?
Yes. Create a private group for your select crew and share reports, conditions, and session updates only with the surfers you trust. Each group includes built-in chat to coordinate dawn patrols and keep your spots secret.
What is Froth Coach?
Froth Coach is AI-powered session analysis. Upload a short clip and get personalized feedback on your technique within minutes. You get 2 free analyses to start, plus one more every time you post a surf report (up to 4 a day). After that, credits come in packs — 2 for $19.99, 10 for $39.99, or 30 for $59.99. The feature is currently in beta. Dedicated surf, skate, ski, and snow coaches are available.
Does Froth support skate and snow?
Froth is surf-focused today. Skate and snow arrive inside the app with Froth version 2 and are not available yet — when they land, they work the same way surf does: a report from someone who is actually there, shared with the community or privately with your crew. Separately, our Froth Coach web apps already offer AI analysis for skate, ski, and snow right now.
Which devices can I use Froth on?
Froth is available on iPhone via the Apple App Store and on Android via Google Play. Open froth-surf.com/download on your phone and you'll be sent straight to the right store.
